What the wall stores
The application stores published drawings and text, coordinates, colour, tool, line width, a random identifier for each contribution fragment and a sequence number. It creates no account, profile or persistent visitor identifier. It does not attach IP addresses, email, location or language to contributions. Personal information written on the wall is nevertheless public: please keep it off the wall.
The presence counter
The counter estimates visible tabs, not unique people. Each tab uses a random token held only in JavaScript memory. The server temporarily stores this token, the latest signal time, visibility state and a technical revision number. These records are not linked to contributions or IP addresses; no history or profile is built. A signal is sent every 15 seconds while the wall is visible. After 45 seconds without a signal, the tab is excluded from the count and its record is deleted on a subsequent presence request. Someone opening several tabs may be counted more than once.
Purpose and retention
Published wall contributions are used to display and share the wall and preserve its history. These contributions have no automatic expiry. Their retention depends on continued operation, technical capacity and legal requirements; unlimited storage is not guaranteed. Content may be removed following a report or a rights request.
Legal basis and recipients
The publisher’s legitimate interest is to operate and protect this creative space; legal obligations apply where required. Contributions are visible to all visitors and may be copied by others. Hosting providers process them to deliver the service. The application uses no targeted advertising, profiling or sale of data.
Technical data and messages
Hosting and network security involve technical data, including IP addresses and request logs, under OpenAI’s and Cloudflare’s policies. The publisher does not control their retention periods or claim that such processing is absent. Providers may process data outside your country; their policies explain applicable arrangements. If you email us, your message and address are used to handle your request for as long as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations.
Sharing
Polaroid-style PNG photos are created locally in your browser and offered as a direct download. The image file is not sent to the WorldwideWC server. Sharing a corner’s link can open the native share sheet on a compatible device; otherwise, the link can be copied. You choose the app receiving the link, which applies its own privacy rules. The site embeds no social widgets or sharing trackers.
Your rights
Contact Andy Assier to exercise applicable rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and, where applicable, portability. Identify the mark or its location: no profile lets us automatically retrieve your contributions. Proportionate verification may be needed. You may complain to the French CNIL or your competent data protection authority.
